Album Review : Long Knives - The Subject

Musician : Long Knives
Album : The Subject
Date Release : January 10th 2019
Publisher : Self-Released

Well its been lovely to know that one of your favourite band that you thought that they wouldn't exist anymore suddenly came out with the whole new stuffs! Yea early 2019 rulz indeed cuz you know I just found out that Long Knives has just put out a new full length! Its like forgetting about the hype American Football's new full length that been a convo of everyone HAHA!
Yes I never thought that this band could remain active cuz as far as I concern that Kris Moya, the main writer and the guitarist for the band, has established and doing stuffs for several new bands like Coherence, Super Unison (As an tour additional), Jabber, etc, so yes when they announced their new full length out, its like 'OH I THOUGHT THIS BAND HAS JUST GONE IN THE WIND!'.
As long as the story goes, this Oakland band put out their first EP on notable label like Count Your Lucky Star and also put out the split along with the labelmates such as Dowsing, Sinai Vessel, and The Cardboard Swords. Also the band has been featured on several gigs like The Fest and being an opening act for a bigger band like Superheaven, etc. But you further from that, I thought the band is disbanded silently lol.
New thing about the full length musically is that they suprisingly added a sythesizer/keyboard sound for this one. Yay its totally new if you hear the previous first EP where the main spotlight for the music is still rely on the guitar sound. But for the songwriting itself, this all still sounds as kickin ass as their first EP! Taken from their press release for the album, the lyrics writing itself for this full length would be much concerning about related issues that sorrounds ur societies like gender dysphoria, anxieties, and other mental health issues, and luckily Long Knives' full length, in my oppinion, is deserved for a great gratitude for making the massage being totally nailed! So if you're such a fan for hearfelt music like Pohgoh, Reiner Maria, or Discount on a more melancholy version probably (?), Long Knives is a band that you should listen to!
The album is out on every digital distribution outlets such as Spotify, Deezer, Bandcamp, etc, and hopefully someone will put out their album physically someday.
