Album Review : Starter Jackets - Fucked It Up For Everyone

Musician : Starter Jackets
Album : Fucked It Up For Everyone
Date Release : November 13th 2019
Publisher : Rad Girlfriend Records / Stardumb Records / Cats Claw Records

Maybe some of them thought that the new wave pop punk thing that been done by Screeching Weasel on several songs, examples like 'Peter Brady', would be preached seriously by any band on this earth. But Starter Jackets has made a prove that yes the pop punk new wave thing should be anyone should take a notice to! Actually this is the second EP they ever produced so far after doing their self-titled EP debut and later on producing a full length called 'Decisions' on 2018.
I personally recognizing Starter Jackets started from their first self titled EP they ever produced on 2017 through bandcamp discovery. But you know I was like faintly passed out to write for this band and yea pardon me for being ignorant too far! But at last here I am sitting down to write down an EP for Starter Jackets on 2k19 (Totally mean! It passed two fucking years buddy!). As far as the story goes, the band is made up from the ashes of several bands like Hospital Job, The Copyrights, and Attic Salt. So yes Starter Jackets isn't a new kid on the block and yes they are totally good as the credibility goes so far.
Well summarizing the whole they made up so far, this mini album I can say is having much improvement than their earlier stuffs. Comparing than their previous work on 'Decisions' full length, this EP has a more infectious melody and also much better songwriting. By this, I do make a good expectation toward their later work to be made. Though as sound production, probably 'Decisions' full length still hold a champ to it and lets hope for a good thing of this band on the future. Well if you're still kinda new for the band itself, I can describe that Starter Jackets is well blending sound between pop punk and new wave like imagining the new wave David Hesselhoff in the late 80's was in love with so much PPMB bands like Houseboat, The Copyrights, or Dopamines. I know that description doesnt make a good intepretation for you (AND EVEN DULL).
This record is out by several labels like Catsclaw Records who produces the record on cassette tape, Rad Girlfriend Records and Stardumb Records on 7". Also the record is out on many digital services like Bandcamp, Spotify, Deezer, etc. And yes this stuff does fit for your end year gift!
