Here we go again! Find myself now seating out on a queue on a drugstore doing an update for my shitty plua lovely webzine. And this time we have a stuff coming from ur good friend in Malang who just put out their debut full length, Whitenoir. Yap its been awhile havent heard any words about these friends of mine since they opened up a Turnover show in Bali few years ago.
As we know for few years back then, Malang has been recognized as a place that producing so much modern pop punk/orgcore acts such like Much, Write The Future, Beeswax, Eitherway, etc. And yes this factor maybe one of the reason why Whitenoir exists. One of a member of the band, as far as I know, is also being active for fronted band like Shewn and probably many other else I havent known yet.

I may have a thought that the band has been left behind as you know there was no news about them of doing anything, like shows or new tunes, since being an opening act of Turnover at Bali and putting out their first EP on Barongsai Records. As Ai of Guerilla Records turned to me and asking me about the band, I was kinda suprise that the band still exists and about to put out their first length through Guerilla Records. You know some say that Malang scene has called its day cause Dandy and Anggia moved to Jakarta, but this full length I think has proven a different way. I mean Whitenoir has made a proof that the city still exist in producing kickin ass orgcore/emo stuffs. Well musically to be said, probably Whitenoir since their first EP has made a clear statement of what kind of sounds does this band present of so I think it wouldnt be a huge problem for the band to find a way for fitting in their sound into their songwriting style. If you find a love for some emo sounds like Sunny Day Real Estate that blends into some grungy sounds, I think you're gonna love Whitenoir for certain or in any words if you love some grungy emo bands like Citizen, Superheaven, or Dikembe, Whitenoir's first full length would be a perfect tunes.
The full length is available on cassette tapes via Guerilla Records and available on bundling package along with T-Shirt as well. Digitally there has been a problem for the third party to make it available online but the recent news that Radio Hey Ho! team got that this full length is now available to be purchased on Guerilla Records' bandcamp. Probably this one goes into my yearly list so I think you should check this one out as well ;)
