Since the first thing being published, to me Strawberry Punks has been a good resource for knowing new kickin ass local talents. Yes this is measurable by the excitement on its first editions featuring great bands like The Shoptalks, The Whistling Possum, Grrrl Gang, Kaveh Kanes, and Odd Gesture. All of them doing the best shot to fill up the contents and yes this is a great taste yet a milestone for the local scene. And its really great that Mamet is willingly to do another comp at the end of the year. Yes fortunately Dismantled has done 2 comps this year and Rizkan Records has 0 since the first time putting out shit hahaha!
The second volume still has the same game as the first one, featuring 5 new bands that Mamet totally love. First one we have Hill Street Connection which is a side project of Andi Hans and Tania of Whistler Post. Totally love the tunes! Featuring a good scoring theme for having a lazy sunday nap YAY! Then on the second place we have The Lousy Pop Group, an underated pop bands from Tangerang-Depok. Everyone on the pop scene should've known Eko-The Lousy Pop Group along with his obsession, Shinny Happy Records. They do have a lovely tunes out here, I know that its colder on November but they have a great summer vibe for this comp already dont worry! And then the next one we have Lazy Eye and fortunately this one is googlable! Just found out that this duo comes from Palembang YAY! I thought the comp featured Jakarta band only lol! Lazy Eye is totally good kinda remind me of Seaside with a much more raw version. Really hope they're gonna stay this way if they're willing to put out something soon lol! The vibe is just damn good. And then the next one we have Turks And Caicos from Bandung featuring such a lazy pop vibe. But you aint a lazy related song anyway. They're talking about World War 2 on this one! HAHA! Its new actually knowing pop band writing about war cuz you know war issue is typically a metal-punk band is dying to write about. And the last band being featured on the comp, The Sensitive. Tiok is a bit angry on this one! Yes he is and writing 'You're A Joke'. I think he fed up with the whole political shit lol and he does it really well with The Sensitive. Hey anyone knows whether they have put out the EP yet!?
Mamet havent put out any of the comp physically and that sux actually! Yea I demand them hardly to be put out on physical form! This is free on bandcamp only. Now I say bandcamp does help musician whos broke as fukk like me!
