Album : Gigantic Disappointment
Date Release : November 15th 2019
Publisher : Self-Released
Well this is actually weird cause I write down this review by stealing time in the middle of my boring recurrent class haha! So this time we have one of my favorite person in music who currently put out an EP, Lande Hekt! Yes such a surprising thing to know that Lande does a solo thing as she posted some singles before on many social media platform. Previously I thought that she wont do it seriously whereas you know Muncie Girls is now nailing so hard with their recent album to put out 'Fixing Ideals'.
Aside from doing poke tattoo and artworks, I actually never thought that Lande Hekt would have something on her head to write a solo album.
I thought Muncie Girls is all her musical output on this recent time (Though we know that she previously played on a Specialist Subject's band named The Fairweather Band). And what comes to suprise is that this solo album is put out independently. Yes I mean like real independent, no labels to sign for this one. Probably this would be a somekind of 'trial project' like if this doesnt work so well she'll leave it down for the first and the last one. Well just a feeling actually lol.
As a matter of fact, I would think that this solo project shall make a continous marks in the future lol or in other words I can say this solo project is a good thing you should take a notice to. Musically I can describe that this album would be another look of what Muncie Girls would shape like in the future and at least that she tweeted days ago. I love how the drum sounds for this EP, let say this one sounds more lo-fi if you could compare with any Muncie Girls album drum sounds and I hope this would be a consideration for her to distinct about how the solo project would sounds like and how Muncie Girls would sounds like. And for the songwriting itself, I guess Lande Hekt has reached up into perfect point for its best shape. Would really love to hear some moar new stuffs whether from this solo project or Muncie Girls. I would pick 'The Future' as one of my favorite song to be recomended for this EP.
This EP is out anywhere digitally such as Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, etc, but not for the physical version. IDK but this is worth enough to be pressed on any physical version in my oppinion.
