Album Review : Retirement Party - Runaway Dog

Musician : Retirement Party
Album : Runaway Dog
Date Release : May 15th 2020
Publisher : Counter Intuitive Records

Well at the end of isolation days, let me spend a bit time of ME TIME world yes please! And on this me time we have one of the most anticipate things by many. Yes its Retirement Party's new full length!! Avery Springer and the company is ready kickin some new fine tunes. Well first, to be honest I'm not a fan of their debut full length 'Somewhat Literate' haha... Yes I was hooked up with their first EP at first but it turned up a bit different as I listened to the debut full length. IDK, it's just not fitting into me though everyone seems going crazy to this full length. And its funny somehow when I started to dig Elton John Cena, its damn fine tune specially on its second EP put out on Lauren Records.
I have kinda strange connection with this Chicago based band to be said. And the latest full length 'Runaway Dog' seems have put in my trust toward the band. Strange as fukk it is. I dont know this record has put out my second mark as well as this one is the second personal favorite for Counter Intuitive Records' catalogues lol since the first one is Just Friends' 'Nothing But Love'. Well really hope the label put out more personal favorite in the future days (Since I heard they signed Origami Angel recently).
This record sounds more contemplative and more melodious if I can get compare to their previous work. And of course this is a praise for this album and this album is just fucking lovely I have to be honest. I dont know but the band seems to be more honest to put out how they wanna sound like and this has put out a favorable output for certain. Well finally Chicago never been out of stock producing damn fine indierock/emo bands and this time comes into the so called fifth wave emo scene.
The full length is out already on May 15th via Counter Intuitive Records and its available on record formats such like colourful vinyl and CD's. And digitally its out anywhere, yea you know bandcamp, spotify, deezer, etc. Oh ya by this post, I would like thank to Noel of Knowhere for noticing me to anticipate the next stuff from Retirement Party lol! I would like to have him writing on this webzine to be honest, like someday probably#@! God knows!
