Album : Withdraw
Date Release : June 7th 2019
Publisher : Specialist Subject Records
Okay finally after taking care of so much lyfe business, I now can set myself in writing a review again for my crappy webzine, Radio Hey Ho! So happy that on this June month is fully filled by the release date of so much of my favourite bands. As being written before, we just did a review for our favourite band, Slingshot Dakota, which just put out an album on our favourite record label ever, Specialist Subject Records! And this time we'll write another Specialist Subject stuffs and this one is frooommm Fresh!
Probably I already taken a note for the band started from 2016 ish which they put out their EP on 2015 entitled 'These Things Are Not That Fun'. One of the thing that has taken me noted to the band is that they did a cover of Joyce Manor on the EP for a song called 'Derailed'. It gets me a wow feeling to know that there's a UK band gets lean to the US sound cause at that time I havent discovered yet about UK bands like Shit Present, Muncie Girls, etc.
Honestly I would like to say that this second full length sounds much much better than the first self-titled LP they put out on 2017. 'Withdraw' offers a much better songwriting and compact materials as compared to their debut full length which could be said the band still kinda 'in searching' of fit and comfortable sounds. Songs like New Girl, Going To Brighton, or No Thanks are the stuffs that personally gets me hooked up to this album. And what should be noticed for the new album is that they do some new stuffs by incorporating a percussion section, please take a listen to the track 'No Thanks', and the band has taken their own sounds to the next level. To date, Fresh is scheduled for Fest 18 this year which I can say yes this is a good shot for them making a US debut and they are prep up already for it! So I would like to say 'Good luck for it!'
The full length is available from Specialist Subject on vinyl and CDs. And you're such digital boy, the full length is available on so much digital platforms like Bandcamp, Spotify, Deezer, etc. Well I guess Specialist Subject has crafted so much mt AOTY list this year lol!
