Album Review : Tapestry/Beeswax/Social Circuit - 3 Way Split 'Best Kept Secret'

Musician : Tapestry/Beeswax/Social Circuit
Album : Best Kept Secret Split
Publisher : Langesrawa Records/Dangerous Goods/Alt+
Date Release : July 31st 2019

Well after keep being busy with dayjobs and fukked up sittuations, thankgod I finally made my ass chilling out a bit for updating this rotten webzine. And this time we have one of, let say, a south asian represent of revival emo sounds. I hope that my statement previously doesnt seem so overated lol but that's what I can tell you. Three different bands from three different countries on the same tears to cry on (Well those crying thing seems overated indeed). Three of my favourite south east asian bands has come into a split and that is monumental as I might say.
Fortunately on this late of life those two of the three bands that I personally have successfully managed to catch their live performance, except Social Circuit which I failed to see them live a while ago in Tangerang :( What makes them interesting so far is that these bands doesnt sound similar each other and has been gracefully represent their true sounds on this split release.
Tapestry which has been known for crafting emo sounds from Singapore and I think the band deserves a distinct higher status for south east asian emo sounds. Cause you know, they've been far arround before this whole emo revival thing glowing on much of south east asian continents. And they've been representing their sound for much places arround the globe as they did a european tour and putting out releases on much places on earth though the band itself as far as I know is on active/inactive status but I'm looking myself forward to see them live someday! Well in any short words, Tapestry's musical description is a fitting sounds if you like the 90's sounds in the vein of bands like SDRE, Mineral, Evergreen, etc. The next contender is Malaysian's proud emo/punk act, Social Circuit. As being recorded, the band has been arround since 2006 and produced one demo and one debut EP which has resulted a favourable result. So far as I can describe that if you like the pop punk sounds on the marriage with the blooming emo vibe, Social Circuit is perfect band you should dig to. As everyone were much much into twinkle stuff, thankfully Social Circuit has made a distinction lol. And the last one coming from a local hero and being one of my local favorite band, Beeswax. In my oppinion, Beeswax has been everyone's favorite stuffs since their first debut full length ever entitled 'Growing Up Late' dropped on 2016. On this split they put out a great songwriting on the song '0312' and the track 'Reason' sounds predicted to be a hint of what Beeswax could sound like in the future.
The split is available on online streaming and can be purchased via each band's bandcamp site and for physical form this one is released on tapes via several labels like Dangerous Goods, Langensrawa for Indonesian distributor.
