Next review is comin from one of ur favourite release that I just being able to settle myself a lil time write about this EP, though I know that it is being so godamn late to do a 'push' for this stuff. As being stated by the whole social media platform these both bands has done a lil tour across the UK land and then releasing this EP.
This kind of dreamy to be honest for both of the bands doing the split as both of them were two of my personal favourite. Well I can take a lil time for your introducing both bands if you're such a newie for both of the bands. Bat Boy, A Philly+Richmond based bands initiated by Hannah and several members of Sundials and yet I just discovered in any weird time of Bat Boy + Honey Joy tour Sundials did a one-shot reunion, yes it happens in UK you're godamn right! WEIRD! The band just put out their first EP on 7" via everyone's DIY favourite label, Asian Man Records. And then we talk about another band on the split, Honey Joy. Honey Joy is one of London based indiepunk band that has been attracted me personally since the day one they put out their debut EP, 'Fixed Grins', independently. They also just put out their debut self-titled full length on several labels like Everything Sucks Music and Infinity Cat Recordings and resulting a favourable output.
Musically I can describe the split has resulted a good output for both of the bands. Both bands represent their own strong musical style and strong characters for its song-writing, Honey Joy still being earwormy to represent their indiepunk tunes and if you love Brat Mobile mix up with some Superchunk vibe Honey Joy would be the next band you should look up to and then for Bat Boy I would like to honestly say that the materials on this split is much better if you try to compare it with their first EP.
The split is produced on 7" via Everything Sucks Music and exclusively being sold for the first time on Bat Boy-Honey Joy UK tour. I think there are still so much left over on the label's store so yes please grab some copies if you would like to!
