Ok moving to the next one, we have Laika's Orbit on our shelf. Well first time I know the band is when Earth Girls' facebook posted their first full length 'No Matter What It Takes' and that time on the full length has hooked me up eversince. Totally love the guitarworks and its melodies while you know as many garrage bands tend to be more concern about how fast they could play, and well Laika's Orbit has its own exception. What I can say that Laika's Orbit has put out a nailed 'pop' sensibilities on their garrage and that what makes the band able to obtain its own signature sounds.
Well to be honest, the full length 'No Matter What It Takes' is only the beginning of my crush toward the band. Later on I try to dig the whole discography by listening to their demo which has been a 'bridge' to me and Stupid Bag Records with its unbelievably awesome catalogues.
Nick Murray' voices is totally fitting to the powerpop vibe that been created by Laika's Orbit. Well if you're into some bands like Nikki And The Corvettes, The Shivvers, or Exploding Hearts, I might fully bet that Laika's Orbit is perfect band you should take a notice to! And the their recent full length entitled 'Chosen No One's' has totally fulfilled my needs cause they do have such great lengthy time to produce this one. As fact has been written that 'No Matter What It Takes' LP is out on 2015 and their last LP 'Chosen No One's' is out on 2019. Yes it takes 4 years in the making and happily this full length offers the same kickin melodies and great guitarworks as they offered on the previous full length on 2014. The band would probably taking a breath for a while but I'm glad that the phase has resulted a great output. Well actually one critic for the full is that this record sounds more modern comparing to their previous stuff which has a more lo-fi vibe. I dont know, but a good garage/powerpop band has a tight relation with lo-fi recording thing to me personally. But on songwriting thing, this band still hold its truest form as the last full length they put out.
The full length is out on vinyl delivered by our lovely Long Island based label, Deadbroke Rekerds. And also this full length is out anywhere on digital forms like bandcamp, spotify, iTunes, etc.
