Album Review : Erica Freas - Young

Musician : Erica Freas
Album : Young
Date Release : February 28th 2020
Publisher : Specialist Subject Records

Awkay, I think its good time to have some writeup and updates for this shitty music blog lol. I know best time to spend the time while got locked up in the age of corrona apocalypse is eating, sleeping, and listening/writing for new music! I know its been pain in the ass for everyone, especially for any musicians or smaller band who are on the DIY circuit, who relies their cashroll by putting out new album and get hop on the tour. So my good prayer goes to you all :,(
So on this chill time though I dont get myself locked up on this apocalypse (yes I fucking work to death!), we're gonna have my Olympia favorite thing who just put out a new full length last year, Erica Freas! Oh correction btw, Erica is now a Bristol based musican lol. I think this is the second I write for her solo album since the first one I wrote for 'The Patient Ones'.
Actually I always love what Erica Freas would put out cause she has a strong sense of songwriting and you know at the very first full length she just got it all! She got the signature, she has her own vibe, she has that great progression. I have a kinda good future vision for her solo project by listening to the new full length, 'Young'. Its been 4 godamn years indeed since 'Patient Ones' released on 2016 and I much less I can say that 'Young' has brought a good different thing for this solo project. As the sound goes, Erica seems like have a different approach for 'Young' itself. You can hear some peaceful sound ambience like the river sounds or sound of kids who plays in the distance and this affects me psychologically there in my brain for saying this is album is such a bright and beautiful album. Well to compare with the previous stuff she put out a long time ago, we all know that Erica Freas does have a strong message for its songwriting I mean this applies to 'Young' too but this time Erica seems put out more 'flowers and sunshines' to this one so that I can say that this is the most beautiful album that Erica Freas could ever made. To be honest, I personally sense some Eddie Vedder vibe on this full length as well lol. IDK probably she used to listen to some of his stuff$@#! Just saying...
As the story goes, Erica cancelled the album releasing tour due to the corrona virus outbreak. So yes the best thing you can do now is buy any stuff that being put out or streaming/buy the album on digital outlets available. The album is out on Specialist Subject on coloured vinyl and CD's and of course spending cashes on records might bring a great matters for a musician right now.
